Kevin Annett – Former Minister, Whistleblower, and Human Rights Crusader

Kevin Annett is a former United Church minister and internationally recognized human rights advocate who has spent over 30 years exposing systemic abuse, genocide, and institutional corruption — particularly in relation to Canada’s Indian Residential School system. As a minister in British Columbia in the 1990s, Annett uncovered evidence of mass graves, forced sterilizations, and child trafficking linked to church-run residential schools, triggering fierce backlash from religious and political institutions. After being expelled from his church for speaking out, he launched a global campaign to bring justice to Indigenous survivors and expose crimes historically buried by the Canadian state and church authorities.

Annett’s courageous work has led to the public airing of survivor testimonies, independent investigations, and growing international awareness of genocide in Canada. He played a central role in forming the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS), and he has directly assisted in organizing common-law court cases and citizen-led inquiries into crimes against humanity.

For his relentless advocacy and groundbreaking documentation, Kevin Annett has been nominated multiple times for the Nobel Peace Prize. He is the author of several books, including Unrepentant: Disrobing the Emperor, and the subject of the award-winning documentary Unrepentant, which chronicles his early work and expulsion from the church.

Today, Annett continues to speak and organize around issues of institutional accountability, spiritual sovereignty, and systemic abuse, often working alongside Indigenous communities and whistleblowers worldwide.
