Biography Xi Van Fleet

Xi Van Fleet is the author of Mao’s America: A Survivor’s Warning and Made in America: The Hidden History of How the U.S. Enabled Communist China and Created Our Greatest Threat.

Born in China, Xi survived Mao’s Cultural Revolution and was sent to the countryside for hard labor at the age of sixteen. After Mao’s death, she was finally allowed to attend college, where she majored in English. She immigrated to the United States in 1986 and has lived here ever since.

Xi describes herself as “Chinese by birth, American by choice, survivor of Mao’s Cultural Revolution, defender of liberty.” In 2021, she rose to national prominence after delivering a powerful speech before the Loudoun County school board in Virginia opposing Critical Race Theory—a speech that went viral and resonated across the country.

Today, Xi Van Fleet devotes her life to warning Americans about the dangers of communism and the disturbing parallels between Mao’s Cultural Revolution and the ideological revolution unfolding in the United States.
